Mission & Vision
At Cohen Veterans Network, a global not-for-profit integrated network of mental health clinics, we seek to improve the quality of life for veterans, including those from the National Guard and Reserves, active duty, and their families. CVN works to strengthen mental health outcomes and complement existing support. Our vision is to ensure that every veteran, active duty service member, and family member is able to obtain access to high-quality care that enables them to lead fulfilling and productive lives. Our Approach
Mental wounds are just as difficult to heal as physical wounds – and treating them is just as important. Through our national network of Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinics, veterans and their families are eligible for personalized, evidence-based mental health care along with access to comprehensive case management support and referrals to deal with other stresses like unemployment, finances, housing, and legal issues. Our skilled staff has experience working with our nation’s diverse population of veterans, military members and their families.
Our Care
Personalized
We offer targeted, client-centered therapy for a variety of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress, adjustment issues, anger, grief and loss, family issues, transition challenges, relationship problems, and children’s behavioral problems. Our high-quality care is centered on therapy options that are the current, best practices available based on research.
Confidential
We will not share your confidential information with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or other public, private, or government entities unless required by law. We comply with federal guidelines set by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Genuine
Our skilled clinicians and staff have been trained to work specifically with veterans and their families, and some are veterans themselves. We build the trusting and confidential relationships necessary to provide excellent, personalized care.
More than Mental Health
We provide support and referrals for related needs including unemployment, housing, finance, and education. Telehealth and childcare are offered on a clinic-by-clinic basis.

- Individual therapy for depression, anxiety, PTSD, anger, grief and loss, and transition difficulties.
- Couples and marriage counseling, and help with children's behavioral issues.
- Case management and referrals for the things that sit underneath a mental health problem — unemployment, finances, housing and legal issues.
- CVN Telehealth, so care does not depend on living near a clinic.
- Services in Spanish as well as English.
Why this is built for the military community
- Care is available regardless of discharge status or role in service — which matters enormously, because a less-than-honorable discharge is one of the most common reasons a veteran is turned away elsewhere.
- Clinics treat the military family as the unit of care, not just the service member. Spouses, partners and children are eligible in their own right.
- Clinicians work with deployment, reintegration, PCS moves, family separation and caregiving as clinical subject matter rather than background detail.
- TRICARE and most major insurance accepted; active duty require a TRICARE referral.
First responders
- CVN has partnered with the Gary Sinise Foundation to provide mental health care to Los Angeles Fire Department uniformed personnel and their families — firefighters, EMTs and medics.
- Clinicians in that program have specific training in the stressors first responders face, which are related to but not the same as combat exposure.
- Delivered in person at the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at VVSD, Los Angeles (Torrance) or via CVN Telehealth.
- Note: this is a specific LAFD partnership, not a general first-responder intake. Responders outside that program should confirm eligibility with a clinic directly.

Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinics
The clinic network itself. Each clinic assesses veterans on individual need and makes every effort to see pre-9/11 veterans based on clinician availability, though the stated focus is post-9/11.
CVN Telehealth
Remote delivery of the same clinical services, for clients who cannot reach a clinic in person.
Veteran Suicide Prevention Training
Published training covering suicide risk stratification and lethal means counseling.
Client Education Center
Free public material on stress and worry, PCS planning, deployment support, PTSD treatment, military couples and supporting military children.
CVN Global
International work, including the Steven A. Cohen Clinic for Veterans and Family at Sheba Medical Center in Modi'in, Israel, for post-10/7 IDF veterans and reservists.

Clinic Events
Individual clinics publish their own local event calendars — workshops, community sessions and outreach. Listings are per-clinic rather than national.
